Field & Stream Puts the Spandau S2 12/21 Turkey Shotgun to the Test

Field & Stream staff writer Phil Bourjaily recently put the turkey-focused Spandau S2 12/21 through its paces, taking a closer look at what this compact inertia-operated shotgun brings to the turkey woods.

Built around a 21-inch barrel and 3-inch 12-gauge chambering, this version of the S2 comes finished in True Timber Strata camouflage and includes a Carlson’s Bone Collector turkey choke right out of the box. Bourjaily took the S2 to the range for pattern testing and spent time evaluating its handling, loading, features and overall value.

The results made a strong impression. Among the features he highlighted were the S2’s easy-loading design, no-click bolt and overall combination of features and quality, ultimately naming it his “best value of the year.”
